Eligibility to Attend Placer County Traffic School:

You are eligible for traffic school if your bail notice gives you a “Bail Option 3” that contains an additional administrative fee dollar amount to pay and you have not attended traffic school on any other case within the last 18 months.

You will be given three months to complete and return your traffic school proof of completion to the court.

• If you fail to complete traffic school by the due date you may have a conviction reported to DMV, a point on your driving record, a referral to Revenue Services for payment, and/or a hold placed on your driving record. 
  
  If you are cited with a misdemeanor or are a minor you must appear in court. At the hearing you may request to attend traffic school and the Judge will determine your status. 
  
  You are not eligible for traffic school if you are charged with an alcohol or drug related charge. You are also not eligible for traffic school if you are charged with a two-point violation, such as 22348(b) VC or a serious offense, as described in §15210(i) CVC, that occurred in a commercial motor vehicle. 
  
  If you previously paid the fine and now decide you wish to attend traffic school, you may do so. You must still attend a court approved school and will now pay the administrative fee plus an abstract fee. When the court receives your traffic school proof of completion, they will send a corrected abstract to DMV to now show the previous conviction as a traffic school completion.
